Austin-based emo band Midcard approached me to design the cover art for their new EP, Death Dreams. Drawing inspiration from the music's emotional depth and storytelling, I aimed to create a cover that evoked a sense of dreams and mortality.
Loose and overlapping shapes create a feeling of disorientation and unease, mirroring the experience of dreams. The color palette utilizes a deep blue, reminiscent of an endless ocean fading into a foggy sky, symbolizing both the vastness of dreams and the inevitability of death. The stark black border serves as a reminder that even the most vivid dreamscapes eventually come to an end.
